Infant Loses Battle After Fire

Hoorya Sadiq, the four-month-old baby daughter who had survived a house fire that killed her mother, grandmother and two sisters Tuesday night, died shortly after she was taken off life support at Children’s Hospital Friday.

She passed away peacefully at 5:30 p.m., said Shahina Siddiqui, the executive director of the Islamic Social Services Association, which has been supporting the family since the tragic blaze.
Hoorya’s father, Hamid Farooq, who was at work during Tuesday night’s fire, made the decision to take his daughter off life support after talking with doctors, Siddiqui said.
Hoorya had been on life support at Children’s Hospital since she was transported from the burning home Tuesday evening.
