Due to the rising cost of fresh Halal chicken (and fresh chicken in general) - now hovering around $3 a pound - and the consequential difficulties of some families to meet their requirements for fresh Halal chicken, the Zubaidah Tallab Foundation has made available 1,800 fresh chickens at only $1.85 a pound. Properties are
- Personally made "Halal" by the charity
- 5 weeks old at butchering
- Average weight of each chicken is 3.5 pounds
- Chickens were fed a mullet of wheat, soybeans & barley
- Chickens were all butchered yesterday, Saturday Jan. 26
- Chickens are sold by box. Average box weight 52 lbs (14-15 chickens)
- chicken are gutted, cleaned and in separate bags
- There are 125 boxes and be on a first come first serve basis
